July 5, 2016
John G. Johnson Construction has been selected as the Design-Builder for the City of Wooster New Safety Center project. Richard L. Bowen + Associates Inc is serving as the Architect of Record for the project.
On Thursday, June 30, 2016 Officials gathered at the building site, on the corner of Friendsville and Burbank Road in Wooster, Ohio.
City of Wooster Officials kicked off the groundbreaking ceremony and welcomed residents, the Fire Department, the Police Department, the Project Team and guests, as they discussed the planning, preparation and dedication it took by all to get to this project secured.
The project consists of taking an existing site with a single story commercial building, two story house,
barn building, and two additional out buildings and developing the new City of Wooster Safety Center,
to combine the Fire and Police Department Operations into a 2-story multi-use building. The building will house lockers, training, storage, mechanical, and IT facilities, as well as the fire operations and apparatus bay, the police evidence facilities and the EOC command operations.
John G. Johnson Construction was selected for this design-build project based on qualifications. This is the second John G. Johnson Construction Company project in Wooster, Ohio.
